How we compare

  1. Primary sources only. Each figure comes from the provider's own public pricing, treasury or disclosure page, linked in the table. If a number isn't published, we write "unknown". We don't estimate.
  2. Dated. Each yield shows the as-of date the provider prints. If they print none, we say so and give the date we checked.
  3. Headline vs entry. We show the advertised "up to" rate and the lowest-tier rate, because top rates usually need $20M+ balances or a paid plan.
  4. Like with like. We label each product as securities (money market funds, T-Bills, bond funds: SIPC, can lose value) or bank deposit (APY, FDIC). Yield measures differ (7-day SEC yield, YTM, APY), so we name the measure where the provider does.
  5. Net of fees where stated. Mercury, Rho and Ramp quote net of advisory fees. Relay, Bluevine and Found tie rates to monthly plan fees, which we list.
  6. Neutral ordering. The comparison table is always sorted purely by the data (default: headline yield). Sponsorship never changes rank. Featured providers get a labeled "Sponsored" callout above the table only — never a higher row. Affiliate links, when present, use rel="sponsored nofollow".
  7. Weekly refresh. We re-check every source weekly and archive dated snapshots (current JSON).

Excluded: Jiko (Public site publishes no current yield), Puzzle (Not a cash/treasury product).

Not financial advice. IdleCash is an independent, informational comparison. We are not a bank, broker or adviser. The comparison table is always sorted purely by the data; sponsorship never changes rank. Yields are variable, quoted as each provider advertises them, and may have changed. Securities products are not FDIC-insured and can lose value. Verify on the provider's site before acting.
